Gyokuro, Organic

Highest grade green tea from Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan. Deep green and lusciously complex, this is one of the more exotic teas. The bushes are shaded in the weeks prior to plucking so that the leaves put out tremendous amounts of chlorophyl, this makes the leaves some of the darkest in the world of tea. This brews a very strong cup, recommended for 30 second infusions that you can perform five or more times from a single set of leaves.  I also recommend trying steeping this tea with 140 degree water, just a bit hotter than your tap will produce, this allows the delicacy of the leaf to speak more clearly through the kale-like vegetal power.
